Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has commenced registration for its 2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise, with the process officially opening on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
The institution announced that only candidates who scored a minimum of 200 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to participate in the admission screening exercise.
According to information released by the university, candidates seeking admission into highly competitive courses may be required to attain scores significantly above the general cut-off mark to stand a realistic chance of securing admission.
The university disclosed that this year’s screening exercise will be conducted physically at its campus in Ile-Ife, Osun State, marking a departure from previous exercises that were conducted online.
Prospective candidates have also been advised to carefully verify that their UTME subject combinations and O’Level requirements align with the admission requirements for their chosen courses to avoid complications during the admission process.
The Post-UTME examination is scheduled to hold between September 1 and September 5, 2026.
Details of the examination format indicate that candidates will answer a total of 40 questions, comprising 10 questions from each of four subjects relevant to their chosen course of study.
Each question attracts one mark, making the maximum obtainable score 40.
The university further stated that candidates will be examined in the same subjects they selected during the UTME, excluding English Language.
Instead of English Language, candidates will sit for an Aptitude Test, which may include questions in Quantitative Reasoning, Current Affairs and History.
Prospective applicants have been urged to complete their registration within the stipulated period and regularly monitor official university channels for further updates regarding the screening exercise and admission process.
Editor’s Note: Candidates should verify all admission details and registration procedures through official OAU admission channels before proceeding with payment or registration.
