The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has constituted a 128-member Campaign Council to coordinate its activities ahead of the Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election scheduled for June 20, 2026.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Kayode Muyide, the council is expected to spearhead the party’s mobilisation efforts across the senatorial district as it seeks victory in the forthcoming poll.
The campaign council is chaired by Femi Agagu, while High Chief Biboppre Ajube and Prince Olu Falolu will serve as co-chairmen. Barrister Allen Sowore was named secretary of the council.
The party expressed confidence in the ability of the council members to galvanise grassroots support and coordinate campaign activities across the six local government areas that make up the Ondo South Senatorial District.
It also disclosed that various sub-committees would be constituted in the coming days to oversee specialised aspects of the campaign.
The Ondo South Senatorial seat became vacant following appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as an Ambassodor, necessitating the conduct of a bye-election by the electoral authorities.
