Comrade Victor Omodara, Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the flag-off of the Ọba Adesida Flyover project in Akure, describing it as a landmark infrastructure project with significant implications for the development of the state capital.
Omodara, in a statement issued on Friday, said the project demonstrated the administration’s commitment to urban renewal, improved transportation and sustainable development in Akure.
According to him, the flyover is coming at a critical time, given the growing population, commercial activities and vehicular movement in the state capital.
He said the project, upon completion, would improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and travel time, enhance road safety and strengthen connectivity across major parts of Akure.
Omodara also noted that the project would transform the cityscape and make Akure more attractive to investors, businesses, visitors and residents.
He said the economic impact of the project would extend beyond transportation, as its construction and associated activities would create direct and indirect economic opportunities for residents.
The governor’s aide described the flyover as more than a transportation infrastructure, saying it represented a long-term investment in the future of Akure and Ondo State.
“History will remember the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa for taking this bold step and demonstrating that developmental governance is not about empty promises, but about conceiving and implementing projects that will serve generations yet unborn,” he said.
Omodara expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for initiating the project and prayed for the successful completion of the flyover and the implementation of more transformative projects across the state.
He said the project would add to the development profile of Akure and contribute to the emergence of the city as a modern and investment-friendly state capital.
