Residents of Aladodo Isinkan Community in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have celebrated the recent Akure High Court judgment affirming the recognition of the Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula Arulewolasi III, amid renewed calls for peace and unity in the kingdom.

The residents, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, trooped out in large numbers to welcome the Olu of Aladodo Isinkan, Olu Ayodeji Fatoki, in a carnival-like celebration marked by songs, dancing and jubilation.

The celebration followed the judgment delivered by Justice Sunday Olorundahunsi of the Ondo State High Court, Akure, which dismissed the suit filed by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, challenging the recognition of the Iralepo of Isinkan as a recognised traditional ruler.

The court’s decision affirmed the powers of the Ondo State Executive Council to upgrade and recognise traditional chieftaincies without requiring the consent of another monarch.

Beyond the recognition of the Iralepo, the judgment has drawn renewed attention to the historical autonomy and territorial boundaries of Isinkan, which, according to the position advanced by the community, extend from Imogun to Aponmu.

The development is significant to traditional institutions and communities within the area, particularly in the context of longstanding questions surrounding traditional authority, land ownership and the installation of titleholders.

Against this backdrop, residents of Aladodo Isinkan described the judgment as a victory for truth and justice and a significant development for Isinkan Kingdom.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Olu Fatoki expressed gratitude to God, the Ondo State Government and the judiciary for what he described as upholding the truth and bringing clarity to the longstanding chieftaincy dispute.

He congratulated the Iralepo and expressed profound appreciation for his guidance, fatherly counsel and commitment to peace, particularly amid the tensions surrounding the chieftaincy dispute.

The Olu also acknowledged the Iralepo for finding him worthy of installation as the traditional ruler of Aladodo Isinkan, describing the honour as a privilege that comes with the responsibility of serving the community and promoting peaceful coexistence.

He urged residents to embrace peace, unity and mutual understanding, stressing the need for collective efforts to advance the development of Aladodo Isinkan and the wider Isinkan Kingdom.

Olu Fatoki further assured residents that development initiatives were in the pipeline, expressing optimism that the community would record further progress.

He called on sons and daughters of Aladodo Isinkan to remain united and support initiatives that would promote the collective interests of the community, adding that peace and cooperation were essential to sustaining the gains associated with the recent court judgment.
