***DG Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye Expresses Confidence Ondo ‘ll Deliver one Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027
The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), a political group mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, has unveiled the third phase of its medical outreach programme for residents of Ondo State, irrespective of political affiliation.
The group also announced plans to launch a statewide market outreach and empowerment programme aimed at supporting market women to expand their businesses.
The Director-General of GMT in Ondo State, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, disclosed this on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting at the group’s state secretariat in Akure, where the initiatives were formally unveiled.
According to Ogunleye, the programmes are designed to provide much-needed medical services to residents while also sensitising the people of Ondo State and other Nigerians on why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves re-election in 2027.
He commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for what he described as initiatives aimed at mobilising members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogunleye expressed optimism that the GMT medical outreach, particularly its free eye care programme, would significantly reduce vision-related health challenges among beneficiaries.
He also praised the Tinubu administration for what he described as its efforts to promote national unity, socio-economic transformation, improved security and infrastructure development across the country.
Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, Ogunleye said Ondo State would deliver one million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on the outcome of the APC’s recently concluded National Assembly primaries, the GMT State Secretary, Hon. Rasheed Badmus, and the State Director of Women Affairs, Hon. Olamide Falana, commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Tunji-Ojo, and the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, for what they described as a transparent and credible primary process.
They maintained that all the candidates who secured the party’s tickets for the National Assembly elections deserved their victories, stressing that they emerged through a free, fair and decisive process.
Ogunleye announced that the next phase of the Jingi Asiwaju medical outreach programme would begin next week across five local government areas of the state.
He added that the E-lo-So-Loja market outreach and empowerment programme would be held in six local government areas, where market women would receive support to strengthen and expand their businesses.
Among those who attended the stakeholders’ meeting were members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, including Hon. Ifabiyi Samuel Olatunji (Odigbo), Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan (Ilaje), Hon. Suleiman Murtala (Akoko South-West I), Hon. (Barr.) Afe Felix (Akoko North-West II), and Hon. (Princess) Ogunlowo Oluwatosin (Idanre).
Hon. Lola Fagbemi Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ondo State and GMT Coordinator for Ondo Central as well as the former APC South-West Youth Leader, Comrade Paff Lawal Kolade were also in attendance.
Seven other members of the state executive sent their apologies for being absent.
