The Four Square Gospel Church, Akure, has held its 2026 Men’s Summit with a strong call on Christian men to integrate faith, integrity, and purpose into their business and professional engagements, as speakers emphasised that economic success without godly values is incomplete.
The summit, which attracted participants from within and outside Akure, centred on the theme “Business that Honour God in Today’s Economy,” with a sub-theme, “The Dignified Business that Goes On in Today’s Nigeria Economy.” Discussions focused on ethical entrepreneurship, spiritual responsibility, national economic challenges, and health awareness among men.
Chairman of the 2026 Men’s Summit, Dr Igbekele Daodu, led discussions on the theme and called for a renewed commitment to dignity, discipline, and ethical standards in business practice, especially in Nigeria’s current economic realities.
He said, “Business that honours God must reflect honesty, accountability, and discipline.”
“In today’s Nigerian economy, survival should not push men into compromise. Instead, it should challenge us to rise with dignity and wisdom.”
“Men must learn that profitability without integrity is empty success. What sustains business is not just opportunity, but character.”
He further noted that sustainable success requires balancing innovation with moral responsibility, urging participants to resist shortcuts that undermine long-term growth.
Also speaking, Pastor John Kolawole Oluwafemi, Chief Executive Officer of John Kollins Global Resources, described the summit as a timely platform for empowerment and transformation, particularly in addressing unemployment and underutilisation of human potential.
He said, “We are gathered in the church not just for fellowship, but to raise people who will create employment and add value to society.”
“God did not create anybody without an assignment. The moment you discover your assignment, you become relevant to your generation.”
“Every man carries potential, but potential only becomes impact when it is aligned with purpose and diligence.”
He encouraged participants to embrace entrepreneurship, skill development, and innovation as tools for national development, while remaining anchored in faith and purpose.
The summit also featured a comprehensive health lecture delivered by Dr Akintunde Favor from FUTA teaching hospital, who addressed critical health concerns affecting men, particularly prostate-related illnesses and stress management.
She said, “Prostate health is a major concern among men, especially as age increases, yet many ignore early warning signs.”
“Regular medical check-ups, proper diet, and exercise are essential for prevention and early detection.”
“Stress is a silent killer. Many men break down not because of lack of money, but because of unmanaged pressure.”
She also advised men to adopt healthier lifestyles, noting that productivity is closely tied to physical and mental well-being.
Participants at the summit engaged in interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and discussions aimed at strengthening their spiritual lives while improving business capacity and health awareness.
Organisers described the 2026 edition as one of the most impactful yet, highlighting its balanced focus on spirituality, economic empowerment, and wellness as key pillars for responsible manhood in today’s society.
The event ended with renewed commitments from attendees to apply the lessons learned in their families, businesses, and communities, with a shared resolve to promote godly values in all spheres of life.
