A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Femi Meshe, has joined well-wishers across the state and beyond to celebrate the Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR, JP, as the revered monarch marks his 69th birthday anniversary.
In a statement issued and made available to journalists in Akure, Meshe described the Deji as an exemplary traditional ruler whose reign has continued to be defined by peace, stability, cultural renaissance, and people-centred leadership since his ascension to the throne.
According to him, Oba Aladelusi has remained a symbol of unity and moral authority in Akure Kingdom, providing wise counsel not only to his subjects but also to government and stakeholders on issues of governance, security, and communal harmony.
Femi Meshe noted that the monarch’s calm disposition, intellectual depth, and fatherly approach to leadership have helped to foster peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in the state capital, making Akure one of the most stable urban centres in the South-West.
He commended Kabiyesi for upholding the sanctity and relevance of the traditional institution while also embracing modern ideals of development, dialogue, and inclusiveness.
“His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, is a rare blend of tradition and modernity. His reign has brought dignity to the Akure throne and reassurance to the people. At 69, Kabiyesi remains a pillar of wisdom, peace, and progress,” Hon. Meshe stated.
The APC chieftain further praised the Deji’s contributions to cultural preservation, noting that festivals, customs, and historical values of Akure Kingdom have continued to thrive under his watch, strengthening the identity and pride of the people.
He also acknowledged the monarch’s support for developmental initiatives and his role in fostering cooperation between the traditional institution and successive administrations at the state and federal levels, describing this synergy as vital to sustainable growth.
Meshe used the occasion to pray for the monarch’s continued good health, long life, and divine guidance, expressing confidence that Akure Kingdom would continue to enjoy peace and progress under his leadership.
