***Former Two-Term Commissioner Reaffirms Commitment to Community Development
Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, Ondo State Director-General of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) and a former two-term commissioner in the state, has announced fresh development initiatives in Oba-Ile, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, including the renovation of six classrooms at St John’s Anglican Primary School and the construction of three additional classrooms with an office.
Yusuf-Ogunleye, who disclosed this while highlighting his contributions to the development of the community, said the projects reflected his continued commitment to improving education, employment opportunities and infrastructure in his hometown, irrespective of whether he was in or outside government.
He said the renovation of the six classrooms at St John’s Anglican Primary School, his alma mater, would cover three classrooms he attended during his primary education.
The former commissioner explained that the latest intervention was part of his sustained efforts to improve learning facilities at the school, building on previous projects he facilitated, including the renovation of five classrooms, the construction of a modern office, another four-classroom block and the perimeter fencing of the institution.
He also disclosed that three classrooms he facilitated at Ejioba High School had been completed within a month, attributing the project to the support of Hon. Aderin Adesida, member of the House of Representatives representing Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency.
On employment, Yusuf-Ogunleye revealed that nearly 20 indigenes of Oba-Ile were undergoing training in Jos, Kano and Delta State after securing employment with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) through his facilitation.
He described the employment initiative as part of his efforts to create opportunities for young people and improve the socio-economic well-being of the community.
The community development advocate also announced the delivery of a 500KVA transformer to Oba-Ile, adding that another 300KVA transformer was expected to be delivered.
He attributed the electricity infrastructure intervention to Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, who represents Ondo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Yusuf-Ogunleye maintained that his commitment to community development remained unwavering despite what he described as temporary setbacks, stressing that his efforts would continue whether or not he held public office.
“I am determined, either in government or outside government, to use the links and integrity I have built for myself to develop my community,” he said.
He called on residents and other stakeholders to support his development efforts, noting that meaningful progress required collective commitment and practical contributions to human and infrastructural development.
