The Chairman of Akure West Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, on Tuesday, led the management team of the LCDA on a working visit to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Community Engagement (Central), Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between both offices to enhance grassroots development within the LCDA and its environs. Discussions centered on key areas such as community development, infrastructure, security, and other pressing issues affecting the people.

Hon. Fadairo was commended for his tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to conveying the concerns of the people to Mr. Governor for prompt and effective action. His proactive engagement with communities has already begun yielding tangible results, with visible improvements in several areas.

In his remarks, Hon. Adejuyigbe urged the SSA not to be distracted by “attention-seeking politicians” who, according to him, have contributed nothing meaningful but instead peddle baseless stories. He acknowledged the strategic importance of Hon. Fadairo’s office in advancing the Governor’s E.A.S.E. Agenda and expressed readiness to deepen collaboration for sustainable grassroots development.

The Chairman also lauded the Governor’s strides in addressing infrastructural deficits, including the ongoing rehabilitation of major roads such as Odiolowo, Aule, and others. However, he appealed for urgent attention to be given to other roads in deplorable condition, including Danjuma, Ajibamidele (Isinkan Market), Talk of the Town, the road opposite First Molac Hotel to the burial ground area, Ondo Road, Lafe, Airways, and the Itaniyan axis.

He emphasized the need for a stronger partnership with the SSA’s office to tackle pressing challenges in infrastructure, economic empowerment, and security. Continuous engagement, he said, is key to deepening governance and improving the well-being of the people.

In his response, Hon. Fadairo appreciated the Chairman and his team for the purposeful and timely visit. He assured them that all requests would be promptly communicated to Mr. Governor and given due attention. He reiterated the Governor’s unwavering commitment to delivering impactful governance to every part of Ondo State, regardless of location or background.

Hon. Fadairo affirmed that the LCDA structure is firmly in place, as declared by Mr. Governor, and urged stakeholders not to be distracted by those working against the people’s interests. He encouraged the Chairman to prioritize unity and intensify outreach with beneficial grassroots programs to fulfill the LCDA’s mission.

He thanked the Akure West LCDA team, under the leadership of Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, for the visit and pledged continued support and collaboration, especially at a time when citizens increasingly demand government presence and action.

Signed:
Sunday A. Ogedengbe
