Advocating the need for the people of Ondo State to embrace peace in the conduct of the October 10 Gubernatorial election in the State, the National Chairman, Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, Pharm. Samuel Oluwaoromipin Adekola MAW has stated that the people of Ondo State must not allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous elements which can jeopardize their safety.
He explained that while it’s important that we have a free and fair election in the State; the people of Ondo State must also ensure that they avoid every act that will put their lives at risk.
“The human life is sacred and fragile, we must not put ourselves in a situation that will endanger our lives. Election will come and go, but we will always remain”
He advised the people to ensure that they exercise their franchise and also steer clear of areas where there’s a potential of violence.
Pharm Samuel stated that there is a need for people to trust the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission to make their votes count.
Assessing the achievements of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN led administration in Ondo State, he explained that within the space of three and a half year there’s been noticeable and increased rate of development in the State.
He explained that the health sector has been immensely invested in by the incumbent Governor,” Ondo State used to have just two Mother and Child Hospitals which were situated in Akure and Ondo, but Akeredolu has increased this to five”
He also stated that the establishment of the Contributory Health Scheme in the State is an unprecedented achievements while he also praised the governor’s intervention in revamping the University of Medical Sciences after it was neglected for eight years by the previous administration in the State.
Speaking on Education, the medical practitioner explained that the Akeredolu has improved the state’s education by ensuring to the building of over 400 primary schools across the 18 local government areas of the state.
