UTME RESULTS: JAMB Explains Delay

Apr 19, 2026

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has apologized for failing to meet its earlier deadline for the release of results of candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, April 17, 2026.

The Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, had on Saturday morning assured candidates that the results would be released before midnight, urging them to stay tuned for updates.

However, the results were not released as promised, leading to anxiety among candidates and stakeholders who had waited into the night.

Explaining the development, JAMB said the delay was due to the unavailability of its Chief Executive, who was engaged in an important assignment.

The Board, however, assured that the Chief Executive is now expected back in the office, and the results—described as the second batch in the ongoing release—will be made available later today, before nightfall.

JAMB also extended its apologies to candidates affected by the delay, particularly those who stayed up in anticipation, while appreciating their patience and understanding.

The Board reiterated its commitment to transparency and timely dissemination of examination results.
