The family and colleagues of ailing Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have disclosed that they have received offers of assistance from more than 500 people seeking to help the actor recover.
Veteran actor, Babajide Kosoko, who disclosed this in a statement, said the overwhelming number of offers had created a major challenge for the family, particularly over how to move Ogogo from the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
Kosoko said many of those who had reached out claimed to have spiritual, medical or other forms of assistance which they believed could help the actor.
However, he said the family was faced with the difficult question of where to take Ogogo and how to move him safely while he remains under hospital care.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him. The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?”
He explained that the inability to take Ogogo to those offering assistance should not be interpreted as a rejection of their goodwill or a lack of appreciation for their concern.
According to him, the decision was based largely on the difficulty of moving the actor from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment.
Kosoko therefore appealed to those who had offered to assist Ogogo to understand the situation and continue offering their support from their respective locations.
He also urged Nigerians, fans and well-wishers across the world to continue praying for the actor’s recovery.
“We are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern that people across the world have shown towards him,” Kosoko said.
He expressed confidence that Ogogo would pull through, urging supporters to remain hopeful and continue praying for his recovery.
“We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation successfully. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” he added.
