Let peace reign in Akure —Reps member Expensive begs youths

Oct 21, 2020

My fellow Nigerian youths, ever supportive people of the Akure South/ North constituent and the good people of Ondo State.

It’s quite saddening and worrisome to see the state of our nation over these past few days.

Peaceful Protest hijacked by hoodlums to wreak havoc on the people; the wanton destruction of properties and public facilities.

We the people of Akure South and North Constituency are peace loving people, this we have exhibited over the years; I hereby implore every one to give way for peace to reign.

I enjoin our youths to be advocate of peace as they have always been; across the line of political difference, they must not allow this to turn into another political fracas.

Even as we pray for God’s protection, it’s important that we also take that needful step of embracing peace.

Akure South/North is our home and we must ensure that we do our utmost best to ensure the security of all. I identify with your struggles and our yearnings.

And upon the mandate you have given me, I will just as always continue to channel my energy and resources towards the good and safety of all in our dear Constituency unit.

God bless us all.

Omolafe Adebayo
Member representing Akure south /North.

I am deeply shocked by the killings of harmless protesting youths across the country most especially the gruesome murder of innocent and harmless youths at the Lekki toll gate.

It saddened my heart that anyone will attempt to order the killings of our future leaders by suspected security officials under any guise or circumstance. This is barbaric and condemnable in any sane society.

As a representative of the good people of Akure North & South, I cannot accept this gruesome murder of our youths in their own land using the apparatus of the state. I condemned it in its entirety.

The total disregard for the sanctity of human life by some security officers is a call for deep concern to an average Nigerian.

I wish to join other Nigerians to register my deepest condolence with the families of these young Nigerians across the nation who paid the supreme price in their quest for a better Nigeria. My heart bleeds as the nation is in her dark moment.

However, I wish to appeal to the good people of Akure North and South to shun any form of violence and prevent this peaceful protest from being hijacked by unscrupulous elements who doesn’t mean well for our beloved Nation and Constituency.

I join my well meaning colleagues at the National Assembly to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately order the arrest and prosecution of officers involved in the Lekki killings and other parts of the country.

I urged our youths in Akure and the country at large to remain resolute, peaceful and avoid any form of infiltration by hoodlums which could compromise the integrity and genuineness of this peaceful protest for a greater Nigeria.

God bless our Youths

God bless our Nation.
