The Ondo State government has commenced efforts at enhancing the beautification of Àkúré, the state Capital towards insulating the area against environmental challenges.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has therefore instructed the Ondo State Environmental Protection Agency, OSEPA, to embark on vegetation control and beautification. The love is to make the state capital, major cities and other areas of the state free from environmental degradation issues that could trigger flooding and other problems associated with the environment.
This move is a further testimony to the Aiyedatiwa administration’s commitment to making life better for the people through infrastructure development and environmental protection.
Special Adviser to the governor on Environment, Hon. Olayemi Adeyemi, hinted that the latest move will see to ridding off the state Capital and other major cities of diseases vectors such as mosquitoes, mammate rats etc.
He added that the move would also enhance the preparedness of Ondo State against predicted floods said to affect many states as the rains continue.
The Aiyedatiwa administration has left no one in doubt of its commitment to making people’s welfare its priority, hence, the light up Ondo project and many other urbanisation enhancement initiatives.
