Ekiti Pioneer Speaker, Adefemi Buries Mother in Emure-Ekiti

The remains of the mother of pioneer Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kola Adefemi , Princess Christianah Taiwo Adefemi will be committed to mother earth this weekend in her hometown, Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

The events put together for the home-going of the late entrepreneur and community leader kicks off on Wednesday November 17th with a commendation service at her residence , New Bodija in Ibadan, Oyo State where prominent servants in the vineyard are billed to honour a woman who spent her life imparting on individuals and church of God.

Attention will later shift to her hometown, Emure-Ekiti on Thursday 18th where a Christian Wake would be held at her residence, Mariam Estate, Ise-Ekiti road in the town.

According to a statement, the funeral service for the departed has been slated for Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, Idamudu Quarters, Emure-Ekiti where friends , family members as well as well-wishers would converge to pay last respect to the astute businesswoman whose impact has continued to be a reference point in the community and beyond.

In a chat with one of the children of the deceased, Rt. Hon. Kola Adefemi who was the pioneer Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003 said all required arrangements have been put in place to achieve a befitting home-going for their mother.

Adefemi said arrangements have also been carried out to provide adequate security of lives and property while all events would be held in line with Covid-19 protocols.
