CAPACITY BUILDING: Ondo Min of Information Trains Staff on Information Management

The Ondo State Ministry of Information and Orientation has trained Information Officers on News writing and management skills in a bid to further enhance productivity in their various Ministeries, extra ministerial Departments and Agencies.

The training tagged Elevating Communication: Advanced Profficiency Training for Ondo State Press Officers, held at the Royal Birds Hotel and Towers, Alagbaka, Akure.

Speaking during the opening of the One-day training, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Chief Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju said the Ministry’s determination to train Information Officers is taken as critical component to boosting their capacity, noting that knowledge is power.

The Commissioner said that training was an intellectual property which could not be taken from individuals and maintained that the management of Ministry of Information and Orientation henceforth has made it a core responsibility to carry out trainings for Information Officers inorder to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency.

She stated that the facilitator Produktiviti Consults was meticulously chosen for the course because of his vast wealth of experience in the field of news writing, assuring that they would be able to transfer their knowledge to the participants geared towards effective information management.

Ademola-Olateju therefore urged the participants to pay adequate attention to details and learn during the training.

On their part, the lead facilitator for Produktiviti Consults, Dr. Sayo Aluko emphasized the importance of training to participants, stating that it would not only help their job delivery but also improve their personal life skills.

He urged the participants to participate, engage and ask questions in the course of the training.
