The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as fake a purported list of its senatorial candidates currently circulating on social media and some online platforms.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the publication titled “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far” did not emanate from the APC and should be disregarded by members of the party, stakeholders, the media and the general public.
Morka described the list as false and misleading, stressing that the APC had not officially released any senatorial candidates through the channels recognized by the party.
He explained that only the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, acting through duly authorized communication platforms, has the authority to announce candidates emerging from the party’s primary elections and other constitutionally prescribed processes.

The APC spokesman urged party faithful and stakeholders to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of creating confusion, misleading the public and undermining the integrity of the party’s democratic processes.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to transparency and due process in the conduct of its internal electoral activities and advised the public to rely solely on official APC communications for authentic information regarding its candidates and electoral processes.
The statement comes amid heightened political activities ahead of forthcoming elections, with parties expected to commence various nomination and primary processes in accordance with electoral guidelines.
