Finalists have emerged in the Ikare Zone of the ongoing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Sports Festival, sponsored by the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), as athletes and teams secured their places in the state finals scheduled to hold in Akure.
The GMT-organised festival, which kicked off on November 6 with an opening ceremony in Ondo, moved through Owo before concluding its Ikare Zone activities on Wednesday.
In the football event, Team Ikare defeated Arigidi 4–1 to clinch the zonal ticket and will now represent the Akoko Division at the state grand finale.
In wrestling, Olalekan Bayo claimed first position, while Leke Folorunsho and Alaba Solomon finished second and third respectively in the zonal contest.
With the Ikare events concluded, attention now shifts to Okitipupa, where the next round of zonal competitions is scheduled for Friday.
