In a carnival like atmosphere, Princes and Princesses of Isinkan kingdom in Akure West LCDA of Ondo State on Saturday celebrated this year’s “Omo’wa Orikadun” festival.

It was an exchange of pleasantries and back slapping as Princes and Princesses of Isinkan Kingdom who came from across the world converged on the residence of Olori Omowa, Prince (Pa) Durojaye Ariyo at Agunloye street in Isinkan to mark this year’s Orikadun festival.

The Iralepo, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) led his Chiefs and friends to the occasion.

Though not a speech making event, the Olori Omowa, Prince (Pa) Durojaye Ariyo commended the spirit, resilience and commitment of the people of Isinkan to the development of the community.

“Isinkan is an autonomous community, our neighbuor is only trying to rewrite our history, but I have seen from your doggedness and commitment that it is not possible and can’t happen.”

“I thank our royal father for what he stands for. He has stood in defence of our heritage and land. ” Omo Akin ni Kabiyesi wa.”

The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) who was elated about the turn out of Princes and Princesses at the event said Orikadun festival has come to stay.

He promised to continually defend legacies, heritage of Isinkan and her people.

“The reason you made me your king is to protect your interest and ensure peace in the land. This I will do without looking back.”

“We had spent more than thirty million naira in cases the Deji of Akure instituted against us. We may likely spend more. We are ready to ensure justice is done and be liberated. Isinkan land belongs to Isinkan people, we know our boundaries and by the grace of God, we ‘ll not allow intruders.”

“These monies we are spending on cases would have been channeled to endowment funds where we would have taken care of our aged and empower our youths. We ‘ll we soon get there. It is a matter of time. We are on the side of truth and truth is sacrosanct.”

The Iralepo appealed to the Omowas to prevail on their siblings who pitch tent with outsiders against Isinkan kingdom.

“They are our brothers, we know them. Help me talk to them to come back home. From time immemorial, Isinkan has been having traditional rulers and not high chiefs. It battles me when some of us want to settle for high chief. They are the ones sponsoring the cases Deji instituted against us. Though they ll all fail” The Iralepo said

Some of the Princes and Princesses who spoke at the event hailed the traditional ruler for his commitment to the growth of Isinkan kingdom.

They said they are solidly behind him in the struggle to librate Isinkan Kingdom, an autonomous community which some people are planning to suppress.

One of them, Prince Olawale Ariyo who is the secretary of Omo’wa encouraged some of them working against the interest of Isinkan kingdom to make a detour saying the time of struggle for who becomes Iralepo had gone.

“We had gone pass Oba selection processes. What should be our focus now is how to development our land and have a common front.” Prince Ariyo said

The Orikadun witnessed presentation of gifts to Oba Olofin-Adimula for being a fearless leader and father.
