120 Traditional Rulers, Other Eminent Nigerians to Grace 2024 Isinkan Day Celebration

No fewer than 120 traditional rulers across Nigeria including Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, the 11th Emir of Bade, from Yobe State, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun Ekiti and many others will grace 2024 Isinkan Day celebration.

The chairman of the planning committee for 2024 Isinkan day, Hon. Olumuyiwa Akintola Aguda, The Olu of Kajola-Isinkan made this known during a press briefing.

According to him, Isinkan Day 2024 will be used to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Isinkan people and to raise funds for developmental projects conceived by His Ancestral Majesty, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo.

The weeklong event will among other things feature conferment of award of excellence on some eminent Nigerians including the first President of the Ondo State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Folashade Aguda-Taiwo, the first female SAN from Ondo State, Funmi Falana SAN, two top military officers, a DSS chieftain and a retired director from the Federal Ministry of Power.

Some of the dignitaries expected are Dr Wale Babalakin CFR SAN, Mr. Yinka Akande (MD Dangote Industries Free Zone Development Company).

“Our heroes will also be recognized posthumously, one of them is the father of former PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN”, he added stressing that Isinkan has a very rich and ancient history with the present Iralepo being the 94th Oba to sit on this exalted stool.

Line up of programes has kicked off on the 9th of July, 2024 with Skills Acquisition and empowerment program at Iralepo’s Palace Isinkan and it is to run till Friday 12th July with free training on Solar Panel Assembly, Laptops & Mobile Phone repairs, Website design & online marketing, Cinematography and Photography.

This is to be followed by
courtesy visit to NTA, POSITIVE FM, OSRC as well as visitation to Olokuta Correctional Center and Juvenile Home.

Other highlights include Thanksgiving Day (Liberation Day) at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church Isinkan on Sunday 11th of July by 10am and Reception at Iralepo’s Palace Ita-Owa, Isinkan.

Presentation of awards will take place on Wednesday 17th July, 2024 also at Iralepo’s Palace Hall, Ita-Owa by 12noon

On Thursday 18th July, 2024, there will Health fair: Screening of blood pressure and blood sugar by medical professionals at the Iralepo’s Palace Hall to be followed by Traditional games at 8am and Ayo Olopon and drafts by 10am. Other highlights for the same day include Final Football Match and Asun night

On Friday 19th July, 2024, there will be Carnival and Jumat service by 1pm. Conferment of Chieftaincy Titles at the Iralepo’s Palace hall will take place by 3pm

The climax of 2024 Isinkan Day celebration will be on 20th July, 2024 with N5billion naira fundraising and unveiling/launching of Isinkan Anthem/Special Isinkan songs.
