***Begins works on Borehole for Facility
The world care international ministry a Non-Governmental Organization has offered free medical outreach to inmates at the Olokuta Correctional Service Center, Ondo State.
The medical intervention included: High blood pressure, Blood sugar screenings, Body Mass Index among others.
The President of the Organization, Jide John Aminasaun said the free medical outreach was to improve the health condition of the inmates.
He said the gesture was borne out of the determination of the organization to assist the inmates and provide them succour through the provision of medical services.
“We decided to pay a visit to Olokuta Prison to seek medical complaints of the inmates and try as much to offer treatments and solutions that will help them while they stay in prison.”
“We are here for full restoration of the inmates; we carried out diagnoses on them and prescribed drugs to restore their health.”
“The idea is to improve the health condition of all the inmates serving in the prisons and to make sure they are in good condition,” he said.
Dr Animasaun enjoined them not to lose hope, noting that they can still be useful to society if they do not go back to what brought to the prison.
The Medical Doctor on the team, Dr Abiodun Ajayi, who came them health talks said it was imperative for the inmates to be tested first to know their ailments before administering appropriate medications.
Some of the inmates expressed gratitude to the organization for its medical intervention and appealed to other well-meaning Nigerians to do same.
The organization has also begun the processes of providing borehole for the correctional centre.
Experts has sighted a suitable site for the borehole and are expected to complete work within one month.
