Why we visited Akeredolu —Kekemeke, Oke, Iji, Adelami

Less than a month after the party’s candidate, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was reelected, Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State particularly the former Governorship aspirants in the just concluded election, have vowed to sustain the prevailing unity in the state chapter of the party and make it stronger for future elections.

The leaders, who were governorship aspirants that participated in the July 20th, 2020 Governorship primary elections of the APC in the state, also pledged to continue to support the Governor Akeredolu led administration for the benefit of the people of the state.

The Leaders included; Chief Olusola Oke SAN, Ambassador Sola Iji, Hon. D.I Kekemeke, Prince Jimi Odimayo, Chief Olayide Adelami and Hon. Akinsehinwa Apata.

Ambassador Iji said the aspirants were happy to share in the victory of Governor Akeredolu while thanking the Governor for providing good leadership which brought about the unity in the party.

He also condemned the wanton destruction of public and private assets by hoodlums who hijacked the #ENDSARS protests in the state.

The Ambassador said the Ondo state Government didn’t deserve the wanton destruction in the state as witnessed in the state two weeks ago.

In his remarks, Chief Oke SAN, assured that the leaders of the party will stand firmly with the Governor and ensure that the resounding victory of the party is translated into the benefits of the people.

While assuring that the unity in the party would be sustained, Chief Oke said Governor Akeredolu have made a solid foundation to take the state from a civil service society to an industrialized state.

On the wanton destruction that trailed the #ENDSARS protest, Chief Oke said:”Giving the state of our economy, it’s unacceptable for anyone to have destroyed assets. While empathizing with the government and people of the state, we condemned this in strong terms.

He said further:”We were told that our victory is being challenged, we see it as our collective victory. We will not watch anyone turn around the fortune of the people. The people of Ondo state need you for another four years.”

Responding, Governor Akeredolu thanked the fprmer aspirants for their show of solidarity, adding that their unprecedented support was the reason the APC recorded a resounding victory at the October 10, governorship election.

Governor Akeredolu described the wanton destruction that trailed the #ENDSARS protest as worrisome.
