A federal lawmaker, Honourable Ade Adeogun says intense lobbying is ongoing to convince policymakers on the need to extend the rail line from Ore to Ondo through Akure , Owo and Akungba Akoko in Ondo State.

The lawmaker representing Akoko South East and Akoko South west federal constituency at the house of representatives while addressing online Journalists at a media parley in Akure said the move is to open up the State for economic transformation.

The federal government recently approved multi billion dollar coastal rail project expected to pass through Shagamu – Ore – Benin and other towns and cities before culminating at Onne.

Adeogun also said all neighbouring roads linking Ondo state will in no distant time get desired government attention in order to end the current hardships being faced by motorists plying the route.

According to him, it is the unanimous resolution of the Ondo state caucus of the legislative chamber to exert necessary pressure on the ministry of works and housing with a view to seeing to the timely construction and rehabilitation of grade A roads with the Akure – Ado Ekiti expressway, Akure – Ilesha expressway and the Owo /  Oba Akoko down to Ibilo highway topping the list.

Adeogun who remarked that it is always in the best interest of constituents to put their best leg forward by electing tested, trusted and experienced candidate as representatives at the hallowed chambers affirmed that his foray into politics was borne out of the desire to impact on his immediate community saying qualitative education and  relevant skills acquisition are his own areas of focus to lift the people out of poverty.

While speaking on the state of the nation, Adeogun observed that lawmakers have and would continue to use legislative instruments at their disposal to put concerned parties on their toes even as he observed that the police trust fund model will soon be replicated in other sister agencies.

While urging Nigerians to continue to believe and work assiduously for the consolidation of gains of democracy, Adeogun added that Nigeria is ripe for electronic transmission of election results as its employment will add greater value to the electoral processes.
