SITA Trains 30 Youths in Software Development, Promotes Digital Innovation

Ondo State Government will continue to prioritise educational needs of youths to enable them attain their full potentials

The Executive Chairman of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Hon. Tomide Akinribido made this assurance at the opening ceremony of a two day workshop on Software Development Immersion at Olusegun Agagu University of Science & Technology, Okitipupa.

Hon. Akinribido who said the training was aimed at upgrading the next generation of investors with the latest digital skills appreciated the state Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for backing all meaningful youth development programs with seriousness it deserves.

Akinribido equally thanked Hidyr Technology Company for identifying with Ondo State Government in its efforts at making the youths self sufficient instead of job seekers.

Welcoming the participants, the Administrative Secretary of the Agency, Brr. Segun Akosile who informed that the Agency has trained over 2000 youths in various aspects of ICT in the last two years said, it is one of the duties of SITA to bridge the digital gap and create job opportunities for the up coming digital technologists in the digitally competitive world.

The Workshop which was in partnership with Hidyr Technology took the participants through various aspects of Software Development which include Planning, Codling, Design, Development & Maintenance.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of Hidyr Technology, Mr. Bamidele Toluwalope Israel said, the training is not only to refresh the digital knowledge of the participants but to scale up their skills in the latest development in Software Development.

About 30 youths between the ages of 18 to 35 took part in the 2 day Workshop
