Razing our school shuttle buses, VIO office in Okitipupa barbaric —Tobi Ogunleye

The Special Adviser to the Ondo state Governor on Transport, Barrister Tobi Ogunleye yesterday condemned the wanton destruction of both public and private assets by hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS protest in the state.

Ogunleye stated this in Okitipupa during an official tour of affected properties of the Ondo state ministry of Transport.

According to him, government is not unmindful of the agitations of the Nigerian youths but observed that the protest has been misdirected.

The Special Adviser while assessing the four burnt free school shuttle buses, lamented that the actions were highly condemnable and barbaric.

Ogunleye affirmed that the free school shuttles buses were sustained by the state government for easy transportation of students to and fro schools in Okitipupa as a way of enjoying the dividends of democracy.

Barrister Ogunleye and his team also assessed the level of damages at the vehicle inspection office (VIOs), inland waterways office and impounded vehicles at the police station which were equally vandalized and burnt.

He thanked the traditional rulers of Okitipupa community for providing alternative office accommodation for the staff of the ministry of transport.

He further appealed to members of the community and security agents in Okitipupa local government to forestall future recurrence.
