Patriarch of Daji Dynasty, Pa Sunday Timothy, laid to rest in Idoani

The remains of the Patriarch of Daji Dynasty in Idoani, Pa Sunday Timothy Daji have been laid to rest in his country home, Iyayu Quarters in Idoani amidst pomp and pageantry.

Late Pa Daji, popularly called Baba Water” died at the age of 83 years in December 30, 2021.

At the funeral Service held at The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Idoani, The Diocesan, The Right Reverend Adegoke Agara charged the congregation to do good at all times for the reward is enormous even before God.

Rt. Revd Agara while taking his anchor scripture from the book of Acts, Chapter 10 verse 38 maintained that the legacy of good deeds manifested in the life of Late Pa Sunday Daji.

The Diocesan emphasized that Late Pa Daji, who was installed the “Alatunse Okunrin Ijo of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Iyayu, Idoani” did good throughout his life times describing him as a builder and not a destroyer.

“For instance, his good deeds earned him the reverred Chieftaincy title of Alatunse Okunrin, which implies that he put all resources to the advancement of the Kingdom of God “.

Rt. Revd Agara urged the congregation to emulate the virtues of Late Pa Sunday Daji and stressed that his children should step in his shoes to continue his good deeds.

Speaking with Newsmen, Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by the Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale described the turnout of people at the funeral to the good life Late Pa Sunday Daji lived.

A son of the Patriarch and a retired Naval Chief, Rear Admiral Oladele Daji expressed joy over the encomium been poured on his Late father.

“I am so grateful to God that my father lived a fulfilled life and he brought us up well which was the reflection of the eminent Nigerians that witnessed the last respect we have him”

On his part, another Son, Mr Olajide Daji said he would miss his father dearly irrespective of the age he died.

The ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries from all walks of life which include Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor represented by Rear Admiral Oluseye Ayobanjo, The Owani of Idoani, Senator Bode Olajumoke, Rtd Rear Admiral Sanmi Alade, members of the 36 Regular Course, former Deputy Speaker in the Ondo State House of Assembly and a serving Commissioner, Alhaji Fatai Olotu and captain of industries among others.
