Ondo NUJ members begin 2020 Press Week with church Thanksgiving

Media Professionals in the country were today charged to make Righteousness and truthfulness their major watchwords in discharging their difficult tasks of informing, enlightening and entertaining the public.
The Zonal Pastor of RCCG, Higher Glory cathedral, Olufoam Akure, Dr Michael Gbala, gave the charge during the annual Thanksgiving service to kick start the 2020 Press Week Celebration of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo state Council.
Speaking on topic, “Journalism and Nation’s Building”, Pastor Gbala said righteous and truthful people were what Nigeria needs at this trying period to overcome various security, health and economic challenges facing her.
Pastor Gbala, a medical doctor, and the church’s area Pastor Gbenga ogunsola urged Journalists to use their investigative skill to unreval predicaments of the land and profer solutions appropriately.
The clergyman appealed to the media to be in the forefront of enlightening the public on the looming second wave of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic
In a remark, the Ondo state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Adetona Aderoboye, said this year is an unusual year, with COVID-19 PANDEMIC and EndSars, hence the need for members to roll out drums to celebrate this year’s press week.
The press week Celebration will continue tomorrow Monday with humanitarian visitation to Ondo state orphanage in Akure.
