Boroffice condoles Monarch’s family, urges Akeredolu to mop up illicit arms

The Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has commiserated with the royal family of late Olufon of Ifon, Oba Isreal Adeusi and the people of Ifon over the murder of the monarch.

The senator also extended condolence message to the Ondo State Council of Obas over the unfortunate incident.

Boroffice described the murder of the monarch as condemnable and unfortunate.

The senator also described as worrisome the reports of escalation of insecurity issues and illicit proliferation of arms and light weapons in Ondo State. Criminals and hoodlums should not be allowed to possess sophisticated arms.

In this light, the Ondo State Government is urged to mount comprehensive and concerted efforts to arrest the flow of illicit arms and mop up illegal arms and ammunitions.

Until this is done, the identified security threat will continue to undermine the security interventions of the Ondo State Government and security agencies.

The senator also called for improved synergy amongst all security agencies in Ondo State. The cooperation of all security agencies is necessary to stem the tide of insecurity in Ondo State.
