It was carnival-like at the Arcade ground in Akure the Ondo State capital during the Grand Finale of the 5th Submit of the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees (FOWOSO).
Women from 18 Local governments and 33 LCDAs in the state were gaily dressed to participate in the annual event.
The second day FOWOSO summit featured various activities including rally and exhibition, march past, dancing among others
Gifts like deep freezers, grinding machines, hair dryers, generating sets and mainly more were given to women who distinguished themselves at the event.
The icy on the cake was the 87 year-old woman, Mrs Bolaji Ayedun who emerged winner of dancing competition and went home with a bag of rice and cash award.
The elated winners commended the vision and concepts of FOWOSO towards the growth of women in society.
Addressing the gathering, the wife of Ondo State Governor, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu said nothing would deter her from ensuring women get maximum care due to them.
She solicited the support of all and sundry towards the completion of FOWOSO edifice to serve as a second home for women in the state.
The Minister of state, for youths and sports, Ayo Olawande Wisdom represented by Owoleye Omolayo commended the support of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and wife for the enabling environment providing for youths to thrive in Ondo State
