It was a display of culture and tradition as the Iralepo of Isinkan in Akure west LCDA, Oba (Barrister) Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) on Saturday 25th January, 2025 installed an Estate management and development consultant, Olawale Afere, as High Chief Asamo of Isinkan.

The palace of the Isinkan Monarch at Ita-owa was agog as it played host to eminent Nigerians from all walks of life including sons and daughters of Isinkan.

Performing the installation ceremony, Oba Olofin-Adimula commended indigenes of the kingdom for their support and unity of purpose towards the development of the town.

He said their support is a tonic with which the community strives and keeps him going.

“I know the impacts each and everyone is making in our quest to make Isinkan the envy of other communities.”

“I must tell you, your efforts are yielding positive results. I can confirm to you that Isinkan kingdom is witnessing development and growth and these can’t be achieved without your support.”

Oba Olofin-Adimula enjoined others especially those in the diaspora to join hands in the development of Isinkan kingdom by attracting and influencing investors.

The Iralepo described the new High Chief Asamo, Olawale Afere as a gentleman who has the interest of Isinkan at heart.

“I’m not surprised, your father before he died was always thinking and dreaming of Isinkan. Your extended family of Asamo has shown a great commitment to the course of the community. So you cannot do otherwise.”

The family, represented by Mrs T. Fagbemisoye, thanked the Iralepo in Council for counting one of their own worthy.

She stated that members of the family have resolved to give their full support to the new Asamo and Isinkan community.

The Asamo, High Chief Olawale Afere also thanked the Iralepo in Council for the chieftaincy title and promised to work for the progress of the community.

High Chief Afere who is the Chief Executive of Grace Homes, deals in real estate.

He is a graduate of Plant Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Benin (UniBen). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Microbiology.

He succeeds his late father, High Chief Olufunmilayo Michael AFERE who died in January, 2022.

His Great grandfather was also the Asamo of Isinkan kingdom.

The traditional title of Asamo in Isinkan is very strategic as High Chief Asamo is the head of the Ejua group. Members of the Eghare, the Ikomo, the Ejua and Ogbe groups will now meet in Asamo’s palace in Isinkan every nine days.
