Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Owa-Ale of Ikare Akoko, Oba Kolapo Adegbite Adedoyin, saying he will not forget in hurry the positive roles played by the late monarch to his political career.
Late Oba Adegbite Adedoyin joined his ancestors on the first of this month at the age of eighty five years.
Governor Akeredolu who noted that late Owaale had been very supportive of his political career implored the monarch’s subjects especially his chiefs to exhibit positive development that the late monarch was known for.
Akeredolu, in his condolence message, said “during Oba Owa Ale life’s time, he was a resourceful person, we attended series of conferences together. The demise was painful because this is the actual time we needed him. I urge you all to manage that he has left behind, from time immemorial, Owa Ale has been good.
“We have started a twin-road in Ikare and we shall finish everything we started in honour of Owa Ale, and for the good people of this town. I also plead with you, in honour of our revered leader, to disregard deceitful politicians trying to pitch Akoko people against Owo people because we are one. Owo and Akoko maintains an intimate relationship,” the governor declared.
Responding, the Asojuoba of Ikare Akoko, chief Olabisi Babajide thanked the governor for the visit and promised that residents would not let the governor down especially towards his aspirations for a second term in office.
Facing Akeredolu eye-to-eye, Chief Babajide said “We will vote massively for you because during Owa-Ale’s lifetime, he urged us to throw our weight behind you. We will support you to the end and we will never forget the legacy projects you have executed in our land”
Also, wife of the late monarch, Olori Titilayo Adegbite-Adedoyin recognized several roles played by governor Akeredolu before the monarch’s demise.
Olori Adegbite-Adedoyin who prayed for the governor encouraged him not to abandon Okorun palace where the monarch passed on after reigning for 48years
Until his death, late Oba Kolapo Adegbite Adedoyin was the President of a group of ondo state traditional rulers known as 130 Krown Obas and member of the State Council of Obas.
