FG Installs Solar Streetlights at Iralepo of Isinkan’s Palace

Oba Olofin-Adimula, Residents Applaud Gesture

The Federal Government has installed 20 solar streetlights in the ancient palace of the Iralepo of Isinkan at Ita-Owa in Isinkan, Akure south local government area of Ondo State.

The project powered by the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority is geared towards enhancing delivery of social services.

The palace of Iralepo of Isinkan is one of the ancient palaces considered for the project by the federal government.

Inspecting the project, the Isinkan Monarch, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) applauded the federal government’s gesture.

He said the Solar streetlight covers all of Ita-Owa, including Jenyo, Tipper Garage and the Oba’s market in the palace vicinity.

Oba Olofin-Adimula said the project would complement Ondo State government efforts at ensuring security of Citizens, especially in Isinkan kingdom and his palace in particular.

“We are happy for the project, it has added to our efforts at giving the palace a facelift. The palace and the adjoining streets are now lit up at night.”

“This will definitely enhance security around the palace.”

“I have no doubt in my mind that this is just the beginning of good things to come from Abuja. Ondo State government is doing exceedingly well too in infrastructural development, this complements the state’s efforts.”

Oba Iralepo appreciated Sons and Daughters of Isinkan kingdom who were instrumental to facilitating the installation of the solar streetlights.

“Once again, you people have made me happy. This is the kind of collaborative effort the kingdom requires. We need more of it. I know God has placed you strategically well for the overall benefit of Isinkan kingdom.”

He urged residents to own the project by maintaining and securing them.

Some of the Residents interviewed were excited with the development and thanked the federal government for considering Isinkan town worthy of the project.
