The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Kayode Ajulo, SAN, has commended Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, for his commitment to promoting Nigeria’s interests and strengthening the country’s diplomatic presence on the global stage.
Ajulo gave the commendation following a meeting with the diplomat in New York, United States, during a trip to North America to attend his daughter’s graduation ceremony in Toronto, Canada.
According to the Attorney-General, the engagement, which began with a breakfast meeting at the Millennium Hilton One UN Plaza, provided an opportunity for a robust discussion on diplomacy, governance, leadership, international relations, and Nigeria’s role in an increasingly complex global environment.
He described the interaction as insightful and enriching, noting that Ambassador Ibrahim demonstrated a profound understanding of global affairs and the strategic opportunities available to Nigeria and Africa through multilateral engagement.
Ajulo said their discussions centred on international diplomacy, global governance, and the evolving dynamics of international relations, while also highlighting the importance of Nigeria’s active participation in global institutions.
The Attorney-General further disclosed that Ambassador Ibrahim later hosted him at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, where he gained firsthand insight into the operations of Nigeria’s diplomatic team and its efforts to advance the country’s interests at the international level.
He noted that the visit offered a valuable perspective on the work being undertaken by the mission to project a positive image of Nigeria and strengthen the country’s voice within the global community.
Ajulo praised Ambassador Ibrahim’s dedication to national service, describing him as a distinguished diplomat whose commitment, intellect, and vision continue to enhance Nigeria’s standing in international affairs.
