May 9, 2026

Former First Lady of Ondo State and breast cancer advocate, Dr Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has launched a new e-book aimed at supporting individuals living with breast cancer through nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.

The e-book, titled “Breast Cancer: Strengthening Your Survival Through What You Eat,” is drawn from her personal journey as a 29-year breast cancer survivor and advocate.

The publication provides practical dietary guidance using accessible Nigerian meals and lifestyle recommendations for people undergoing treatment and recovery.

Dr Anyanwu-Akeredolu, wife of the late former governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, said the guide is intended to complement medical care and not replace professional treatment.

She noted that the publication was designed to make nutrition guidance simple, practical and culturally relevant for Nigerians navigating breast cancer.

The e-book contains a practical Nigerian meal plan and wellness tips aimed at improving recovery and overall wellbeing.

The foreword of the publication was written by Prof. Abidemi Omonisi, President of the Nigerian Cancer Society, a development Dr Anyanwu-Akeredolu described as a major endorsement of the work.

According to her, the support from the cancer society president adds strong professional and institutional credibility to the publication and underscores the growing role of nutrition in cancer management.

Dr Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is also a senatorial aspirant in Imo State, has been widely recognised for her advocacy on breast and cervical cancer awareness through her initiatives and public campaigns over the years.

The e-book is available for purchase at ₦7,500 locally and $7.99 for international buyers.
