An aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Akure North and South Federal Constituency, Prince Akintayo Olokunboro has placed his capacity to attract foreign investment and drive economic development at the centre of his ambition, declaring that his international connections will be leveraged to benefit Ondo State.
Speaking with journalists ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections, Prince Olokunboro emphasized his strong professional networks in the United States and Canada, noting that he possesses the capacity to facilitate capital inflow into the state through strategic partnerships.
“As someone with strong connections in the United States and Canada, I have the capacity to facilitate capital into Ondo State. This is about bringing in investment that will create jobs, boost infrastructure, and improve the overall economy of our constituency and the state at large,” he said.
The aspirant, who is also a mining expert, highlighted his keen interest in the Ondo Deep Seaport project, describing it as a critical economic asset capable of transforming the fortunes of the state if fully harnessed.
“As a mining expert, I am particularly interested in the Deep Seaport project because of its economic potential. I know that my company in Canada will be interested in partnering with the Ondo State Government to bring this vision to reality. This is the kind of collaboration that can open up Ondo to the global market,” he added.
Prince Olokunboro noted that his aspiration goes beyond rhetoric, stressing that his experience and exposure position him to attract meaningful development and industrial growth.
Ahead of the APC primaries, he also expressed strong support for the consensus mode adopted by the party leadership, describing it as a credible and peaceful means of selecting candidates.
“Who says I am not the consensus candidate our leaders will pick? I am confident that the leadership will make the right decision. What is most important is the unity and progress of our party, and we are ready to work and serve our people with dedication,” he stated.
He further outlined his commitment to people-oriented legislation, promising to focus on youth empowerment, job creation, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, and infrastructural development across the constituency.
“My focus is on legislation that will directly impact the people creating opportunities for our youths, supporting businesses, and ensuring that governance is felt at the grassroots. Representation must translate into real and measurable development,” he said.
Prince Olokunboro also assured constituents of accessibility and inclusive representation, pledging to maintain close ties with the grassroots and prioritize the welfare of the people.
“I will remain accessible to the people, listen to their concerns, and ensure their voices are heard. I am committed to the welfare of our people, and I will work closely with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and party leaders to deliver on this mandate,” he assured.
He emphasized that his ambition is driven by a genuine passion to serve, expressing optimism that with the support of party members and constituents, Akure North and South Federal Constituency will witness a new phase of purposeful and impactful representation.
