A prominent APC stalwart in Ondo State and indigene of Akure, Femi Meshe, has warmly welcomed the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to Akure South Local Government Area as part of his ongoing thank-you tour across the state.
Meshe described Governor Aiyedatiwa as an indefatigable, focused and people-oriented leader, whose administration has continued to deliver meaningful development, particularly in Akure South, the state capital and heartbeat of Ondo State.
He noted that since assuming office, the governor has demonstrated uncommon commitment to infrastructural renewal in Akure, with several critical road projects either completed or receiving serious attention.
According to him, the rehabilitation of key township roads such as Odopetu Road, Iloro–Owe Akala axis, and Alafiatayo–Odole–Odi-Olowo Road has significantly eased traffic movement and improved the daily lives of residents.
Meshe also commended the Governor for the completion of the Oda Road project, describing it as a strategic link that has opened up communities and boosted economic activities within Akure South.
He further highlighted ongoing works on the Ijoka Road corridor and the Akure–Idanre Road dualisation, which he said will further enhance connectivity, safety and urban development in the state capital.
Hailing the Governor’s inclusive leadership style, Meshe said the thank-you tour reflects Governor Aiyedatiwa’s humility and appreciation of the overwhelming support Akure people have consistently shown him and the All Progressives Congress.
He therefore enjoined the people of Akure South: youths, market women, artisans, community leaders and party faithful, to come out en masse to give the Governor a rousing and memorable welcome.
“This is a Governor who has kept faith with Akure. The visible projects around us speak volumes. The people should come out in their numbers to celebrate and appreciate an administration that is genuinely working for them,” Meshe said.
He reaffirmed the loyalty and support of Akure South residents to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, expressing confidence that the governor will continue to deliver sustainable development, peace and prosperity for Akure and Ondo State at large.
