The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded plans to introduce an electronic system for authenticating and documenting its membership across the state.
The initiative, aimed at ensuring a secure and permanent database of party members, was a key highlight of the State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held on Tuesday at the party’s Secretariat in Akure. The meeting was chaired by the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin.
According to Adetimehin, the electronic verification will provide both the national and state leadership of the party with accurate and credible membership records. He urged local government and ward leaders to accord the exercise the seriousness it deserves, noting its importance to the party’s organisational strength and electoral preparedness.
As part of the implementation strategy, the SEC approved the training of 18 resource persons—one from each local government—who will in turn train selected personnel at the ward level to ensure seamless coverage across all political units.
The statewide registration is expected to commence with the enrolment of the State Governor and leader of the party, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
To drive the process, the committee also announced the constitution of a body headed by the State Organising Secretary, Hon. Charles Fagbohunka, to oversee the swift and hitch-free execution of the electronic registration.
The party further used the meeting to reiterate its commitment to delivering overwhelming support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The Publicity Secretary of the APC in Ondo State, Alex Kalejaye, confirmed the resolutions in a statement issued after the meeting.
