The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), one of the foremost support organisations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State, has inaugurated its ward and local government executives in Okitipupa and Irele Local Government Areas.
The ceremonies, held on Monday, drew a large gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, community stakeholders, women groups and youths, further consolidating the group’s growing political visibility in the state.

With the latest exercise, GMT has now completed the installation of its structures across all 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
The events featured cultural displays, drumming and songs, underscoring the movement’s expanding influence at the grassroots.
Speaking at the inauguration venues, the State Director-General of GMT, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, said the movement was established to enlighten Nigerians on the achievements of President Tinubu and strengthen political awareness ahead of the 2027 general election.

“We’ve put in place GMT structures in all the 13 wards in Okitipupa and also in Irele. Our people have been urged to return to their various wards to preach the gospel of President Tinubu’s achievements—what he has done in the last two years, what he is doing presently, and the economic reforms underway.” He said
Yusuf-Ogunleye noted that GMT’s activities have continued to receive support from the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, whose encouragement, he said, has helped to drive the organisation’s statewide mobilisation efforts.

He highlighted GMT’s ongoing social intervention projects, including the Jigi Asiwaju free medical outreach and the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Sports Festival, describing them as initiatives designed to improve community welfare, promote unity and engage young people productively.

“We are not speaking to our members alone. We are engaging everybody by adding value through our programmes,” he stated. “We’ve taken our Jigi Asiwaju Medical Outreach across all senatorial districts and federal constituencies. The sports festival is ongoing to unite Nigerians, discover talents and keep the youth positively engaged.”
On collaborations among Tinubu support groups, Yusuf-Ogunleye stressed that the various groups were complementing the APC’s structure rather than creating division.

“We are collaborating and adding value to our party. GMT, AMG and others are one family. It is one party, one governor and one president,” he said, noting that GMT recently held ward meetings across the state to revive political activities at the grassroots.
Also speaking, the State Secretary of GMT, Hon. Rasheed Badmus, said the group was working to secure widespread support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“Our sports festival involves all residents of Ondo State, not just APC members. We are bringing everyone together under one umbrella. Now that the inauguration exercise is complete statewide, our executives are expected to return to their wards and mobilise support.” He said
He added that President Tinubu had begun several developmental projects that required continuity, urging Nigerians to support his re-election bid.
GMT coordinators for Okitipupa and Irele LGAs, Toyin Akinniyi and Ayodeji Arewa, expressed confidence that the new executives would deliver effective mobilisation across all communities.
They commended Minister Tunji-Ojo for revitalising the APC in Ondo State through robust grassroots engagement.
The newly inaugurated executives pledged to intensify sensitisation efforts on President Tinubu’s achievements in all wards and communities within the two councils.
