The ancient Isinkan Kingdom added a touch of royal elegance to its 2025 New Yam Festival as the Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula, unveiled one of his new oloris, now to be known as Olori Temilade.
The colorful ceremony, which was part of activities marking this year’s festival, drew dignitaries, traditional chiefs, cultural enthusiasts, and indigenes of Isinkan to the palace, where they witnessed the official presentation of the new queen to the people.
Olori Temilade’s story is one of brilliance, resilience, and distinction. She began her academic journey at St. Williams Primary School, Okitipupa, proceeded to St. Louis Catholic Girls Secondary School in Ondo for her junior education, and completed her secondary education at Oladimeji International School, Ile-Ife.
Her passion for learning led her to Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, where she earned a B.Sc. in International Law and Diplomacy. She further obtained a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan and later pursued studies in Criminology at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
In her professional career, Olori Temilade has made significant strides in the insurance industry. She began at Cornerstone Insurance Plc in Lagos as a risk assessor before moving to FBN General Insurance Ltd, which later became Sanlam General Insurance Ltd and now SanlamAllianz General Insurance Ltd. Today, she serves as Branch Manager in Akure.
The unveiling ceremony was greeted with cheers and cultural displays, adding glamour to the New Yam Festival, which remains a significant celebration of harvest and heritage in Isinkan.
With her academic achievements and corporate leadership, Olori Temilade is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the palace while supporting the preservation of Isinkan’s traditions.
