The Iralepo of Isinkan, His Royal Majesty Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III), has congratulated renowned legal icon and human rights advocate, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, on his conferment with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a message personally signed by the monarch, Oba Olofin-Adimula described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Mr. Falana’s lifelong dedication to justice, civil liberties, and the rule of law in Nigeria and across Africa.

“Mr. Falana’s name has, over the decades, become a byword for principled activism, fearless advocacy, and a deep, patriotic commitment to the voiceless in our society,” the royal father stated.

“His elevation to the rank of Commander of the Order of the Niger is a fitting tribute to a man who has consistently used the law to fight for fairness and national progress.”

The Iralepo praised Falana’s decades of activism, spanning military regimes and the democratic era, during which he has remained a resolute defender of human rights, both in and out of the courtroom.

He further commended Falana’s role in mentoring younger generations of lawyers and civil society leaders.

Oba Olofin-Adimula also emphasized the deep historical and cultural ties between Mr. Falana and the Isinkan Kingdom. He noted that Mr. Falana is married to Mrs. Funmi Falana SAN, a respected women’s rights advocate and daughter of Aguda Royal dynasty of Isinkan.

“Through his union with Princess Funmi Falana, daughter of our illustrious son, Mr. Falana is not only connected to Isinkan by marriage but by shared values of justice, honour, and public service that define our heritage,” the Iralepo said.

The monarch lauded the legacy of the Aguda family and expressed pride that one so closely tied to Isinkan continues to uphold the highest ideals of public service and national responsibility.

The monarch prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and long life for Mr. Falana as he continues his contributions to national development.

“On behalf of the people of Isinkan, I extend our heartfelt congratulations. This honour is richly earned. Isinkan is proud of you. Nigeria is proud of you,” Oba Olofin-Adimula declared.
