All Set for 2nd National Convention of IDA, N50 Million Fundraising for e-Library Project

Preparations are in top gear for the second edition of the National Convention of the Idogun Development Association (IDA), alongside a N50 million fundraising event aimed at completing the e-library project in Idogun Community, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The convention, scheduled to hold on May 1, 2025, will take place at Finicky Restaurant Centres, Jibowu, Yaba, Lagos. The event is being organized under the leadership of Dr. Thompson Aiyegunle, a seasoned Chartered Accountant and Chairman of the Planning Committee.

According to Engr. Olatunji Ajibolade, President of IDA, the association was established to mobilize sons and daughters of Idogun—both at home and in the diaspora—towards the sustainable development of their community through a citizen-driven approach.

He highlighted that, through this approach, IDA has successfully executed several impactful projects, including the establishment of an ICT Centre equipped with a standby generator and managed by a dedicated instructor. This center has enabled students in Idogun and neighboring communities to acquire vital digital skills.

In addition, the association has facilitated the construction of a modern market square and organizes quarterly career talks for students, coordinated by academics such as Prof. Alaba Gbadamosi.

The upcoming convention will focus primarily on raising funds to complete the ongoing e-library project, envisioned to serve students in Idogun and surrounding communities.

Engr. Ajibolade is calling on all indigenes and friends of Idogun to support the initiative by donating generously towards the realization of this laudable goal.

Notable dignitaries expected at the event include Senator Bode Olajumoke, former Head of Service in Ondo State Mr. Modupe Omolorun, and Dr. King Clay Abisah, a former Principal of Idogun High School and now the Traditional Ruler, Nana Kwabena Kuuri II of Ghana. The Chairman and Chief Launcher of the day will be Mr. Festus Okun, a retired Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs.
