As Christians across the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Iralepo of Isinkan in Akure South local government area of Ondo State, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) , has called on believers to embrace the true spirit of Easter by forgiving their enemies and letting go of bitterness.
In his Easter message to the Christian community in Isinkan, Ondo State and beyond, the revered monarch emphasized that forgiveness lies at the heart of the Christian faith and is a cornerstone of peaceful coexistence and spiritual growth.
Quoting from Ephesians 4:32, Oba Olofin-Adimula said:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
He urged Christians not only to celebrate the resurrection with joy but to embody the teachings of Jesus Christ in their daily lives – especially in forgiving those who have wronged them.
“The message of Easter is not only about victory over death, but also about healing, reconciliation, and love,” the monarch stated.
“As Christ forgave even those who crucified Him, so must we let go of anger and hatred and become agents of peace and unity in our families, communities, and nation.”
Referencing Luke 23:34, where Jesus prayed on the cross saying, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do,” Oba Olofin-Adimula said that true strength lies not in revenge, but in mercy.
He also called for continued prayers for Isinkan, Ondo State and Nigeria, urging Christians to support efforts that promote harmony, development, and moral leadership.
“This Easter, I call on all faithful to renew their commitment to righteousness, compassion, and forgiveness. Let us live out the resurrection by choosing to heal rather than hurt, to love rather than hate,” he concluded.
The monarch wished Christians a joyful and blessed Easter celebration, filled with hope, peace, and divine grace.
