The All progressives Congress in Ondo State has expressed confidence in repeating the victory it recorded in the last November 16 governorship election in Saturday’s Local Government election.
The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Alex Kalejaiye gave the assurance on Monday while addressing journalists at the party’s Secretariat.
Kalejaiye said with the level of performance of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led administration, the people of the state would vote for APC on Saturday, January 18, 2025 during the local council poll.
He said APC has met all the conditions reeled out by Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission(ODIEC) and all their candidates across the 18 local government areas are sellable.
Kalejaye said: “You are all aware that it’s no longer fashionable to appoint caretaker committee for local government, that’s why it’s imperative for the state electoral commission to conduct the local government election in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
“We are fully prepared. We have started the campaign by meeting with all stakeholders across all the 18 local government areas of the state.
“We have constituted campaign committees at local government, Ward and unit levels to begin to sensitive and mobile the people ahead of the Saturday poll.
“We have also constituted another committee led by the state Organizing Secretary of our party, Hon. Charles Fagbohunka to coordinate all the campaign committees across the 18 local government areas.
“The state Vice Chairman of our party, Hon. Atili Agabra is heading a Reconciliation Committee constituted to reconcile all members of our party who have one disagreement or another to settle.
“The committee is expected to reconcile all members ahead of the Saturday election for us to have landslide victor.
“We are sure that we are going to repeat the massive victory we recorded during the last governorship election in which we won in all the 18 local government areas.
According to the Ondo state independent Electoral commission,ODIEC ,Thirteen political parties will participate in Saturday’s Local Government election.
