***STAKEHOLDERS LAUD INITIATIVE,
After almost a week of entertaining Football Matches the curtains were finally drawn on the maiden Iralepo Cup Football Competition .
The Competition which was organized as part of activities marking 2024 Isinkan Day Celebrations brought Youths from across 16 Communities in Isinkan Kingdom together.
In the end it was Fanibi Youth Forum team that carted home the ultimate prize after pipping Agunloye FC 1-0 in a keenly contested Final match which kept fans at the edge of their seats.
After going through the preliminary and knock out rounds without conceding any goal and scoring 7 in the process the team from Fanibi that were then tagged favorites lived up to the billing by breaking the resilient Agunloye FC in the closing stages of the second half to emerge champions of the Inaugural Competition.
Speaking, the Kabiyesi, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula commended all the teams that participated saying it turned out to be a unifying platform for the Communities in the Kingdom.
“As you can see the Football Competition eventually turned out to be a unifying platform for the Youths of the kingdom that were engaged for almost a week now”
A son of the soil and former SSA to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Prince Tunji Light Ariyomo branded the initiative of the Competition as one which was a successful one while lauding the organisers.
“The Football Competition was a huge success and it was part of the reason I had to travel down to be part of the final match and I want to particularly commend the organisers for a job well done”
The finalists were formally presented with medals while the winners also took home the brand new Trophy presented by the Kabiyesi himself.
