ODIRS Nabs Over 30 Vehicle Owners for Old Number Plate, Expired Vehicle Particulars in Akure

No fewer than 31 vehicle owners have been arrested by the combined team of Ondo state internal revenue service ODIRS, the federal road safety corps, vehicle inspection officers and security Agencies for Old number plates and expired vehicle particulars.

The team was on major roads in Akure the Ondo State Capital checking particulars of both private and commercial vehicles.

The Licencing officer, Ondo State Internal Revenue service, Mr Samuel Olajide explained that the exercise was aimed at ensuring vehicles plying the state roads are road Worthy.

The Leader of the team for the Ondo state vehicle inspection office, Mr Adeniyi Adenegan harped on the importance of acquiring vehicle licences as and when due.

Motorists in the state were therefore urged to update their particulars to avoid getting their vehicles impounded.

Registration and renewal of vehicle particulars are part of obligations of citizens.

Many vehicle owners are however in defiance of this important duty as many unregistered vehicles and others with outdated particulars continue to ply the roads.
