A federal lawmaker representing Akure North/South federal constituency, Hon. Mayokun Lawson-Alade has said the House of Representatives primary election held in Akure the Ondo State capital on Friday was inconclusive as the process was disrupted by hoodlums.
The lawmaker was addressing Journalists after the primary election held at Ade Super hotel in Akure.
The election was reported to have been disrupted with gunshots by some hoodlums.
Though, Hon. Lawson-Alade could not finger who was responsible, he claimed most of his supporters were injured during the incident.
He claimed that one of his supporters sustained gunshot while clothes of his Agent and one of his Aides were termed.
“The process had started peacefully , sorting had begun and I was coasting home to victory when we had gunshots and everyone scamper for safety “
“Both security personnel and INEC officials took to their heels and there was no announcement of results “
“I wonder where some people got the results they and branding all over social media.”
He said “since the process of the election was not concluded, the best thing to do would have been to conduct a fresh election.”
While urging his supporters to remain calm and resolute, Hon. Lawson-Alade said he’s a candidate to beat at anytime.
“Our great party should look into this and do the needful” He said
