The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has endorsed a former President of the Senate, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, as the next president of the country.
Governor Ikpeazu gave his endorsement while receiving Chief Anyim in his country home, in Umuobiakwa, in the Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.
He said the former President of the Senate, who also served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, had enough public service credentials and experience to lead the country.
The governor also argued that no ethnic group had demonstrated more practical belief in the Nigerian nation than the Igbos, as could be judged from their spread to and investment in every part of the country.
He, therefore, called on other sections of the nation to support the presidential ambition of the southeast zone.
Chief Anyim said he decided to run for the presidency after a careful analysis of his antecedents, experience, and passion for the unity and development of the country.
