Dec 16, 2020

Over 1000 widows in Ondo state have smiled home with food items ranging from bags of rice, salt and seasoning cubes courtesy of a former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Adelami.

The gesture is an annual benevolence by Chief Adelami to widows which is marked with a Christmas party and get-together, and this year’s outreach is the 16th edition.

Addressing the beneficiaries at the party held in Owo, his country home, Adelami, an APC stalwart and aspirant in the October, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state appealed to highly placed members of the society to extend love to the less privileged around them.

He said this is even more important during this yuletide in view of the global health crisis and attendant effect on the economy.

He said it gives him so much joy to know the poor widows will have something to celebrate the yuletide.

Adelami emphasized that love and sharing are also some of the reasons for the Christmas season.

After receiving their food items, the widows thanked Chief Adelami, who is the Amuwagboye of Owo, and his wife, Abosede Adelami for putting smiles on their faces every year.

They prayed God never to forsake the Adelami family and repay their benevolence with much more blessings.
