Workers issue ultimatum over unpaid salaries at OSOPADEC

Workers of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC, have issued a three day ultimatum to management of the establishment to pay their salaries and other emoluments or they embark on indefinite strike.

The workers under the auspices of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTURE) raising from its Congress held at the Akure head office of the commission on Wednesday issued the three day ultimatum to the Management of the Commission on the payment of their October 2020 Salary and other emoluments as approved by the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu

Acting Chairman of the workers union, Comrade Sola Ademuwagun expressed that the workforce has been putting pressure on the Management for over 2months after getting the nod of Arakunrin Akerodolu but it was reported that the State Accountant General, Mr Laolu Akindolire deliberately refused to release funds in these regards.

He further hinted that a 7 days ultimatum was issued to the Management on the 9th of December, 2020, which expires wednesday,16th December 2020 but to their dismay, the Management did not deem it necessary to bring members of the union Executives to a round table for discussion.

The workers appealed to all well-meaning stakeholders in the state to help them prevail on the Accountant General of the State to release funds to this effect, without further delay especially as the yuletide season is around the corner.
