Total Blackout hits Akure, Ekiti, Owo, BEDC gives reasons

Residents of some communities in Ondo and Ekiti states have been hit with total blackout in the last 48hours.

SUNSHINETRUTH gathered that the power outage was caused by faulty electricity transmission supplying light to the affect towns.

However reacting in public notice, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) said, “NOTIFICATION OF FAULT AT AKURE 132KV TRANSMISSION COMPANY OF NIGERIA(TCN);

“Dear Esteemed Customer, We apologize for the disruption of power supply to our customers in Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Igbara-Oke, Ikere-Ekiti, Owo, Ifon and its environs. This is due to a wire snap at the Akure Substation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (T CN).

“We appeal for your understanding and assure that power supply will be restored as soon as the TCN team of engineers clears the fault.”
